This update adds a number of new features to the Duke, resolves a few minor issues, and gives a slight performance improvement on most systems. The major changes are as follows:

• Optimised LOD (Level Of Detail) models.
• Optional medium and low polygon exterior models.
• Optional mip-mapped textures.
• Animated rain-drops on the windscreen glass.
• Improved GPS HSI integration (using Reality-XP or default GPS).
• HSI Auto or Manual DTK.
• Improved ‘Cold and Dark’ function.
• Improved engine starting.
• More realistic generator gauges.

This update also includes all of the older SP1 updates. For this reason the Duke SP1 Update is no longer available.

If you downloaded the Duke installer on or after the 6th of January 2010 then you do not need to download this update. All installers downloaded after that date include the V1.5 update files.

This patch fixes a display problem that affects the SF260 2007 VC texture reflections. This problem is only seen on some video cards. At the moment we have seen it with the Nvidia 8800 series cards, but it could possibly be seen on other cards too.

This patch will replace the SF260 2007's VC reflection bitmap. This new texture will work with all cards, but is only necessary if you are experiencing a problem with your VC reflections.

This bug is seen most clearly on the VC canopy glass. Click here to see a screenshot of this display bug in action. The dark area seen on the windscreen in this screenshot moves around as you pitch, roll and yaw the aircraft, so it won't always look the same as this screenshot.

While this patch is only needed with some video cards, it can be installed safely on any system without any ill effects.

This movie, created by BrettVisionSLR, is an excellent tutorial on crosswind takeoff and landing technique. The wing-low method described in this movie is exactly the same method a student is taught when learning to fly, and it demonstrates how accurately our SF260 can be flown in FSX. This service pack fixes the following issues on our Spitfire XIV:
(1) Some users experienced blurry gauges in the VC, especially in the Racer. This issue has been completely fixed.
(2) Left-front moving raindrops now display correctly on all variants.
(3) Contra-prop graphics revised to reflect correct number of prop blades.
This service pack is only needed on aircraft downloaded before 12 March 2005.
